What is your opinion on what the boys say? (2023)
The video questions stereotypical and narrow-minded descriptions of gender roles that the youth magazine Vi Unge (We Young) chose to publish during the period 2010-2015.
The youth magazine Vi Unge (1958 – present) deals with life as a teenager. The magazine describes it as follows:
Vi Unge helps you find yourself and your place in the world by inviting you into an inclusive and safe community that inspires, informs, and entertains. We cheer you on, so you dare to stand up for exactly who you are (2024)
In recent years, the youth magazine has renewed itself, with a greater focus on diversity and representation. However, this has not always been the case. Just a decade ago, articles could be found where girls and boys were described based on entrenched gender roles, as well as articles stigmatizing menstruation.
